This study looks at academic readiness and behaviour in preschool children through brain imaging.

The aim of this study is to better understand the environmental, biological and psychosocial factors that may play a role in attention problems.
Functioning
Your child will complete some table top tasks related to reading and self-regulation (2 hours).
We will take pictures of your child’s brain using an MRI (30 min).
MRI and assessments will take place at Douglas Research Center (6875 Bd LaSalle, Verdun,).

Eligibility criteria
The criteria for inclusion in the participant group are :
- mother who experienced symptoms of depression (e.g. low mood, sleep challenges) during pregnancy,
 - 4-6 years old child,
 - child showing attention/behaviour problems.
 
The criteria for inclusion in the control group are :
- mother who did not experience any distress during pregnancy,
 - 4-6 years old child,
 - child showing no attention or behaviour problems.
