Study: Sleep and circadian rhythms in men and women

RESEARCH PARTICIPANTS WANTED

Study on Sleep and circadian rhythms in men and women

Postmenopausal women 45 years or older wanted for study on sleep-wake cycle. Participants will receive financial compensation for their participation in this study. They will first visit the lab at various times throughout the screening procedure (duration of these visits vary among participants), including 1 night in laboratory for sleep evaluation. They will have 2 periods of 2 weeks at home each to complete questionnaires and 2 lab visit (about 72h visits spanning 4 days). 

Risks and discomforts: blood samples, frequent visits, and overnight stays in our research Centre. For research purposes, participants will be asked to take melatonin, approved by Health Canada to treat sleep-wake disorders, and placebo, a substance that looks like melatonin but doesn’t have any active ingredient.
