Job description
Reporting to Professor Lena Palaniyappan of McGill University, the person will join the team to manage the organizational and financial operations assigned to the Centre of Excellence’s projects. The Centre of Excellence was established with funding support from Graham Boeckh Foundation, and has its institutional base at the McGill, Douglas and its affiliated clinical services.

Description of tasks
Within this opportunity, the manager will provide:
- Management of Human Resources: · Support the hiring, management and performance management for staff working at the centre and within affiliated research projects · Provide daily supervision to project staff as required; provide guidance, review performance and support to team members to support their skills development
- Project Management & Operational Leadership: · Establish, monitor and lead project planning activities, supporting project teams to ensure deliverables are met · Prepare and submit progress and financial reports · Provide oversight and support to ensure functioning of research teams and completion of projects, within regulatory requirements and ethical standards
- Organisational Development: Engage stakeholders of the CEYMH; liaise with diverse funders and partners (clinical services, research and other granting agencies, foundations, universities) and partners; prepare and present operational and financial reports as required · Prepare and negotiate agreements and contracts in collaboration with the DRC administrative services · Proactively contribute to management to support success of all projects, including identifying challenges and leading implementation of collaboratively defined solutions
- Financial oversight, agreement and contracts management: · Manage budgets and make administrative decisions concerning funds (respecting funding parameters) · Establish, manage and oversee all project contracts and grant agreements.
Required qualifications
Requirements and qualifications
- Hold a graduate degree in psychology, psychiatry, public health or any other related field;
- Certification or diploma in management of projects and/or human resources is an asset
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in direct personnel management
- A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in research, social sciences and mental health;
- Knowledge of funding rules
- Knowledge of ethical rules on project management and data collection
- Relevant experience in planning and executive multiple projects
- Fluency in French and English (both written and oral)
- Autonomy
- Collaborative and open communication style
- Excellent leadership and decision-making skills
- Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work with a variety of stakeholders, internal and external.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and set priorities.
- Strong organizational skills and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to manage contract research organizations and their external vendors, as well as negotiate contracts
- Excellent organizational and project management
- Strategic thinking
- Use of management systems and other relevant software, including the Office 365 suite
Work schedule
Hybrid – Douglas Research Centre in Verdun.
35 hours per week
