CIUSSS de l’Ouest-de-l’Île-de-Montréal is looking for a professional in knowledge transfer and innovation to fill a permanent full-time position within the Direction des affaires universitaires, de l’enseignement et de la recherche team. The position is located at the Douglas Mental Health University Institute.

Internal job title: Planning, Programming and Research Officer

Brief job description:

Reporting to the Head of Knowledge Transfer and Innovation, the incumbent works closely with the players involved in programming, planning and supporting knowledge transfer activities in line with the policies and programs put forward by the various departments of CIUSSS de l’Ouest de l’île de Montréal. He/she works in collaboration with the various clinical and administrative departments to support the dissemination, adoption or appropriation of the most up-to-date knowledge resulting from research or leading-edge practices by practice environments, decision-makers and the general public, through the systematic use of a series of knowledge transfer activities. He/she maintains relevant links with external partners, locally, nationally and internationally, to keep abreast of practices and initiatives in knowledge transfer and innovation.

Day-to-day role and responsibilities:

  • Work closely with researchers and research teams to support them in carrying out knowledge transfer and mobilization projects;
  • Collaborate with managers and partners to design knowledge transfer plans based on the needs expressed by the facility’s clinical and administrative departments;
  • Use communication skills to produce content adapted for distribution to target audiences;
  • Participate in the design and organization of events (webinars and conferences, videos, capsules, etc.);
  • Contribute to knowledge-sharing projects such as mentorships, forums and other interactive events;
  • Monitor and participate in the creation of content on social networks for affiliated research center accounts;
  • Plan, organize and implement training activities to meet the skills development needs of different clienteles;
  • Participate in the development of various information documents such as guides, procedures, posters, newsletters, etc;
  • Set up and lead working committees as part of the management of projects under his/her responsibility;
  • Coordinate the Douglas component of the TREMPLIN consortium, aimed at supporting students in knowledge transfer for the entire McGill RUISSS network;
  • Manage the operations of the VIVA studio, a technical platform for capturing and editing video vignettes;
  • Participate in consulting support for the development of innovation management within the establishment;
  • Contribute, through analysis and recommendations, to change management, problem solving and continuous improvement of activities that are part of the Knowledge Transfer and Innovation department and the CIUSSS university mission.

Required qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in humanities, social sciences, health sciences or other relevant discipline*;
  • Holds a 3rd cycle university degree, an important asset;
  • Demonstrated expertise in the use of knowledge transfer models, theories, concepts and strategies;
  • Is familiar with academic research environments and the dynamics of working in a research center or institute;
  • Has advanced knowledge of digital communication tools and an openness to exploring new technologies;
  • Demonstrates excellent mastery of Microsoft Office 365 suite software;
  • Is able to establish a relationship with a French and English-speaking clientele;
  • Has a good knowledge of the organization of services in the health and social services network;
  • May be required to travel within the territory served by CIUSSS de l’Ouest-de-l’Île de Montréal.

*NB: All diplomas obtained abroad must have been the subject of a Comparative Evaluation of Studies Completed Outside Quebec with the Ministère de l’immigration, de la Francisation et de l’Intégration.
