Sylvia Villeneuve awarded grants from the Alzheimer Society and the Alzheimer Association

Congratulation to Sylvia Villeneuve, who was recently awarded grants for two major Alzheimer societies, the Alzheimer Society (Canada) and the Alzheimer Society.

Dr. Villeneuve won an Alzheimer Society Research Program/Brain Canada New Investigator Grant, which are designed to help launch the careers of outstanding researchers who are within the first 2 years of their initial academic appointment. Dr. Villeneuve received funding for research aiming to track Alzheimer’s disease progression at the earliest stages using amyloid and tau PET scans.

In May, Dr. Villeneuve had also received an Alzheimer’s Association Research Grant of $100,000 to develop an online platform to assess health and lifestyle habits in a cohort of ~300 cognitively normal individuals with a family history of Alzheimer’s disease.

These grants highlight the quality of the projects proposed by Dr. Villeneuve.  Bravo!
