On Tuesday, September 17, 2024, Brain Canada announced the winners of the fifth cohort of Future Leaders in Canadian Brain Research program.
Brain Canada is a foundation dedicated to the advancement of neuroscience in Canada. Thanks to an anchor gift from the Azrieli Foundation and the support of visionary donors, the foundation launched the Canadian Brain Research Leaders program, aimed at stimulating innovative research on the central nervous system. For its fifth cohort, Brain Canada awarded a total of $2.1 million in funding to 21 promising early-career researchers, each receiving a $100,000 grant. This program aims to build capacity in brain research and accelerate bold scientific projects to improve brain health in Canada.
We are proud to announce that Dr. Rachel Rabin, a researcher at the Douglas Research Centre, has been selected to receive a Brain Canada grant.
“Empowering the next generation of scientists is critical to improving health outcomes for people living with brain conditions and their families. We are confident that supporting these bold ideas will advance research and accelerate progress in ways that will benefit all of us. With this funding, we are building a strong pipeline of neuroscience leaders and laying the groundwork for future research excellence.”
– Viviane Poupon, President and CEO of Brain Canada
