The winners of the Marilyn Meikle and Ennio Barbuto awards were announced at Research Day 2025 on 19 June.

Marilyn Meikle Award for research in mental health
This award recognizes the outstanding work of a student (undergraduate, Masters or PhD), a postdoctoral fellow or a resident who demonstrates an interest to improve knowledge about causes or treatment of depression and/or bipolar disorder by conducting or contributing to a research project at the Douglas Institute.
One prize has been awarded to:
Ennio Barbuto award for research in suicide and depression
This award is given to trainees ((undergraduate or graduate students, residents, postdoctoral researchers) who demonstrate a desire to improve knowledge about causes and treatment of suicide or depression by conducting and/or contributing to a research project during their tenure at the Douglas Mental Health University Institute.
