Induction into Canadian Academy of Health Sciences

Congratulations to our researchers, Alain Brunet and Howard Steiger, who were inducted into the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences (CAHS) on Thursday, September 19, 2019. Dr Brunet was inducted in recognition of his research on the treatment of psychiatric disorders by selectively blocking the reconsolidation of specific memories; Dr Steiger was honored for his leadership in the field of eating disorders.

Congratulations to our researchers, Alain Brunet and Howard Steiger, who were inducted into the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences (CAHS) on Thursday, September 19, 2019. Dr Brunet was inducted in recognition of his research on the treatment of psychiatric disorders by selectively blocking the reconsolidation of specific memories; Dr Steiger was honored for his leadership in the field of eating disorders.

Induction into the CAHS as a Fellow is considered one of the highest honours within Canada’s academic community. CAHS Fellows are nominated by their institutions and peers and selected in a competitive process based on their internationally-recognized leadership, academic performance, scientific creativity, and willingness to serve.

The mission of the CAHS is to inform policy and practice by mobilizing the best scientific minds to provide independent and timely evidence-based assessments of critical health challenges affecting Canadians.
