Dr. Eric Latimer was awarded a contract from the MSSS to deploy support programs for people experiencing homelessness.
In a significant development aimed at enhancing support for individuals experiencing or recently transitioning from homelessness, the Ministry of Health and Social Services has awarded a $300,000 contract to a team led by Dr. Eric Latimer. This team includes Dr. Geneviève Sauvé from the Douglas, Mireille Valois, who oversees the Individual Placement and Support (IPS) supported employment program at CIUSSS ODIM, and other collaborators from Université Laval and UQAC.
The project’s primary goal is to engage in knowledge mobilization efforts designed to create comprehensive training and monitoring tools. These tools are intended to facilitate the province-wide implementation of IPS-like teams for people experiencing or recently transitioning from homelessness. This initiative fulfills one of the commitments of the 2021-2026 provincial inter-ministerial plan to address homelessness, marking a pivotal step forward in addressing homelessness through innovative and collaborative approaches.
Congratulations Dr. Latimer!
