What better way to end the summer? To make room for undergraduate research!
Are you enrolled in an undergraduate degree, and doing a research project at the Douglas this summer?
Come present it to the scientific community of the research centre during the 10th Douglas Undergrad Research Expo, which will take place in person, on Thursday August 27th at 3:00pm!
Call for undergrad presentation abstracts
Undergraduate students currently at the Douglas, you are invited to submit an abstract to present at this event. It’s a unique opportunity to present your research and to improve your presentation skills! The presentation should include mostly research contributions of the undergraduate student. Students who recently graduated and have not yet started their graduate studies are also eligible to present their work.
The event will include a datablitz with short oral presentations of each student (1 minute/1 slide), followed by a poster session. There will be prizes for the best poster presentations.
To present at the Undergraduate Research expo, please complete the submission form (link below), by Thursday July 23rd at 5:00pm the latest. If you submit an abstract, please ensure to be available on August 27th between 3:00 and 5:00pm. Authors of selected abstracts will be notified end of July.
Call for judges! (grad students and postdocs)
Are you curious to discover the role of a judge in a scientific competition? If that is the case, volunteer to judge the presentations! Judges will be responsible for assessment of the talks and the selection of the awardees.
Interested graduate students (MSc or PhD) and postdocs are encouraged to submit their name, level of study and lab affiliation (supervisor) to douglas.academic.life@gmail.com by Thursday July 23rd at 5:00pm, with “Judge for Undergraduate Expo” as the email title, and a brief explanation of the reasons why they would like to act as a judge at this event. Please ensure that you are available on August 27th from 3:00 to 5:00pm if you volunteer.
