Camila Velez, a first-year PhD student in the Department of Psychiatry, supervised by Dr Srividya Iyer and Dr. Gina Dimitropoulos was awarded a CIHR – Michael Smith Foreign Study Supplements Scholarship.
This award supports high-calibre Canadian graduate students in building global linkages and international networks through the pursuit of exceptional research experiences at research institutions abroad.
By accessing international scientific research and training, CGS-MSFSS recipients will contribute to strengthening the potential for collaboration between Canadian and foreign institutions.
Camila will use her scholarship to pursue work related to a transdisciplinary project in collaboration with EAFIT University in Medellín, Colombia, focused on supporting youth mental health and wellbeing through youth-led, tactical urban design interventions.
