*** Deadline February 17, 2021***

Douglas students and postdocs: The Douglas Research Blitz is back in an online format, because in spite of the COVID-19 pandemic, we still need to share and discuss our research!

If you want to:

  • Practice your presentation skills
  • Get feedback on a project idea
  • Share some brand new results
  • Let others know about a cool new technique
  • Virtually network with fellow researchers in a casual setting

…then the Douglas Research Blitz is for you!

The Research Blitz will feature a series of short presentations (3-5 min each, 3 slides max) followed by feedback and discussion. It will take place on Tuesday, March 2, 2021, from 4 PM to 5 PM via Zoom (link to be sent later).

If you are interested in presenting, we invite you to submit a short outline of your presentation (maximum of 125 words) in English or French to: douglas.academic.life@gmail.com before Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at 5 PM.

Please also provide:

  • A short title
  • Your level of study
  • The name of the PI who supervises you

Possible presentation topics include a proposed project idea, collected data, laboratory/statistical techniques, and other topics related to your research. It does not need to be a finalized and well-polished study! Applicants will be notified soon after the deadline whether they were selected to present.

As this event is designed with a focus for presentations by trainees, we welcome submissions from all students and postdocs of the research centre (research assistants are allowed to submit as well), and highly encourage attendance from PIs and staff alike! Please forward this announcement to anyone who might be interested in presenting or attending.

Looking forward to seeing you at the Research Blitz!
