Call for Applications: The Rémi Quirion and Holly Carsley Awards

We are pleased to announce that the Rémi Quirion Excellence Awards and the Holly Carsley Memorial Awards are being renewed this year.

2023 Dr. Holly Carsley Memorial Award

Thanks to generous gifts from Dr. Holly Carsley’s family and friends, the Douglas Research Centre and the Douglas Foundation are happy to announce this year’s competition of the Dr. Holly Carsley Memorial Award to recognize the outstanding work of a Douglas resident, postdoctoral fellow or Ph.D. student pursuing research in the area of depression and suicide. The goal of the Award is to stimulate young researchers to perform high quality research that has the potential to prevent depression and suicide, and improve diagnosis and treatment of depression.

Open to residents in Psychiatry (research stream) presently conducting research, doctoral-level students, or postdoctoral fellows in an accredited university and conducting research in the area of depression and/or suicide under the supervision of a principal investigator who is a member of the Douglas.

Deadline for submission: Wednesday March 22, 2023, at 5:00 PM.

2023 Rémi Quirion Excellence Award

Thanks to generosity of former students and collaborators, the Douglas Research Centre and the Douglas Foundation are happy to announce the Rémi Quirion Excellence Award. In addition to being a world- renowned researcher in the field of neuroscience and mental health and to presently hold the position of Quebec’s Chief Scientist, Dr. Quirion was the Scientific Director of the Douglas Research Centre from 1996 to 2011. As such, he has highly contributed to model the research centre as we know it. In particular, he has always been a strong promoter of the essential contribution of students to the research centre. With this in mind, this new excellence award aims to recognize the outstanding research contribution of Master students of the Douglas Research Centre.

Open to Masters-level students registered at an accredited university, under the primary supervision of a principal investigator who is a member of the Douglas.
