We are pleased to announce that the 2024 Marie Giguère Travel Awards have been renewed for 2024.
What are the 2024 Marie Giguère Travel Awards?
Thanks to the generous support from Ms. Marie Giguère, Ad. E., past Vice-President of the Douglas Mental Health University Institute Foundation, awards worth up to $500 are available to support travel and attendance for graduate students (MSc and PhD candidates) presenting their work at a national or international scientific conference.
DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION: TUESDAY MAY 7, 2024, AT 5:00 PM
Eligibility
To be eligible for this award, the applicants must:
- Be registered in a graduate-level program (i.e., Master’s, Doctoral) in an accredited university.
- Be conducting your thesis work under the supervision of a principal investigator who is a member of the Douglas Research Centre.
- Be doing either an oral or a poster presentation.
- There are no restrictions on the proposed conference, as long as it is a national or international conference, the conference is in-person, and it is related to your thesis research area.
- The conference must occur in the date ranges indicated above. The award cannot be used for a different meeting than the one described in the application.
- Only expenses related specifically to the participation in the conference are eligible (e.g., travel, housing, poster production expenses; registration fees). The award will amount to the total of the expenses supported by receipts, up to a maximum of $500.
Value
Awardees will receive the award up to a maximal value of $500.

Complete the application form and send it by email to Colleen Carter, at the email address colleen.carter@douglas.mcgill.ca, with “Giguère application” as the subject line, before Tuesday May 7, 2024, 5PM. Late submissions, incomplete forms or submissions that do not fulfill the above criteria will NOT be considered.
