The goal of the Award is to stimulate young researchers to perform high quality research that has the potential to prevent depression and suicide, and improve diagnosis and treatment of depression.

We would also like to extend our congratulations to Firoza Lussier from Dr. Pedro Rosa-Neto's lab for obtaining a prize of $ 500 for the Rémi Quirion Award of Excellence. The Douglas Research Centre and the Douglas Foundation are happy to present the Rémi Quirion Excellence Award, thanks to the generosity of former students and collaborators. In addition to being a world-renowned researcher in the field of neuroscience and mental health and to presently hold the position of Quebec's Chief Scientist, Dr. Quirion was the Scientific Director of the Douglas Research Centre from 1996 to 2011. As such, he has highly contributed to model the research centre as we know it. In particular, he has always been a strong promoter of the essential contribution of students to the research centre. With this in mind, this excellence award aims to recognize the outstanding research contribution of Master students of the Douglas Research Centre.

Congratulations to our recipients!
