New evidence challenges understanding of Parkinson’s disease – Dr Nicolas Tritsch

Published on: 2025-12-19

A new study conducted by Dr Nicolas Tritsch, challenges the traditional understanding of dopamine’s role in Parkinson’s disease. The results show that dopamine does not control the speed or strength of movements, but rather provides the ‘support’ necessary for movement to occur. This discovery could simplify and improve treatments for Parkinson’s disease.

This information was reported on the Education News Canada website, and Dr. Tritsch was invited to talk on Radio Canada’s Le matin du Nord programme.
