Eating disorders: be aware of « OSFED » – Dr. Linda Booij

In an interview with La Presse, Dr. Linda Booij explains how OSFED (Other Specified Feeding or Eating Disorder) profoundly affects psychological health and can have consequences as severe as those of anorexia or bulimia.

She emphasises the importance of better understanding this little-known eating disorder and offering appropriate clinical follow-up, because even if patients are not always underweight, their distress and the impact on their daily lives are very real.

” The encouraging news is that eating disorders, including OSFED, can be treated, and that these treatments are accessible. Data show that approaches developed for other eating disorders are also effective for people with OSFED. “
