Quebec’s minister for social services, Lionel Carmant, announced the creation of Le Christin, the largest housing project to date in the fight against homelessness. This new social housing complex for vulnerable people just opened up in Montreal, and is comprised of 114 units. Tenants will pay only a quarter of what they make every month.
The organization will also carry out a research project, led by Dr. Eric Latimer, to measure the impact of this innovative model on the social re-affiliation of individuals who have experienced homelessness.
