Launch of a student-run podcast, "COVID-19 - Sors de ma tête"

A podcast about the psychological consequences and repercussions of the pandemic

Sors de ma tête is a podcast series broadcast of 4 episodes hosted by Justine Fortin and Marjolaine Rivest-Beauregard, two Master's students (in Psychology at the University of Montreal, and in Psychiatry at McGill University-Douglas Research Centre, respectively). The COVID-19 pandemic has been an extraordinary event that has had serious consequences such as significant and lasting psychological repercussions. Each episode focuses on different reactions (emotional, physiological and behavioural), while the final episode deals with the influence of media on mental health. Starting with a lay-version of their research project, the two students rely on testimonials, as well as on interviews with an expert and an influencer, to have open discussions.

The 4 episodes are available every Wednesday from May 19 on the COVID-19 Youtube channel COVID-19: Sors de ma tête, as well as in audio on Balado Quebec, Spotify and Apple Music.

An international research project shows that young adults (18-30 years) have higher levels of psychological distress than older groups. With the pandemic still having a strong impact on us, the goal of the project is to educate young people between the ages of 18 and 30 about their mental health in these difficult times through a podcast (accessible via audio and video). The results of the study are prsented and discussed between the facilitators, Justine Fortin and Marjolaine Rivest-Beauregard (Master's students), an expert, an influencer, and the community, using testimonials. The guests and the community also have the opportunity to share their concerns and difficulties with the expert, whether about health, instructions, misinformation, coping mechanisms, etc.

The podcast is comprised of four episodes - availiable on Wednesdays:
