Please join us on August 8, at 10 am, for a special seminar given by Sidarta Ribeiro, PhD, Professor of Neuroscience at the Brain Institute of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil. The talk is entitled, “Mind Mapping with Words.”
Dr. Ribeiro obtained a Bachelor in Biology from the University of Brasília (1993), Master in Biophysics from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (1994), and Ph.D. in Animal Behavior from Rockefeller University, USA (2000), with a postdoctoral degree in Neurophysiology from Duke University, USA (2005). He has experience in neuroethology, molecular neurobiology, and systems neurophysiology, with an interest in the following topics: memory, sleep, and dreams; neuronal plasticity; vocal communication; symbolic competence in non-human animals; computational psychiatry; neuroeducation; medical cannabis; psychedelics and drug policy. Author of more than 100 scientific articles and 5 books, among them The Oracle of Night (Penguin).
This talk is being hosted by the Silveira Lab and will be held in-person in the Douglas Hall (see map below), and rebroadcast on Zoom.
