SEMINAR: Dr. Ana Andreeazza: Energy metabolism and bipolar disorder

We invite you to attend a presentation by Professor Ana Andreazza from University of Toronto, who will be visiting the Douglas Research Centre on Friday, August 23, 2019. Her talk, entitled “Energy metabolism and bipolar disorder: Where we are and what is coming”, will be at 10 am in th Bowerman Room, Dobell Pavilion.In this lecture, Dr. Andreazza will provide an overview of where we are and where we are going in the study of energy metabolism in the diagnosis and treatment of bipolar disorder. She will focus on a simple question “Is mitochondrial function the cause of neurotransmission changes in bipolar disorder?” and finish her presentation with novel models including the use of brain organoids to understand the involvement of the energy metabolism on neurotransmission.
