Title

Intrinsic neuromodulatory dynamics in the basal ganglia of mice

Biography

Nicolas Tritsch, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Neuroscience and Physiology and a member of the Fresco Institute for Parkinson’s and Movement Disorders at the New York University Grossman School of Medicine. He obtained his undergraduate and master’s degrees in neuroscience from McGill University, his doctorate in neuroscience from Johns Hopkins University under the mentorship of Dr. Dwight Bergles before completing postdoctoral training with Dr. Bernardo Sabatini at Harvard Medical School. His laboratory combines molecular, genetic, optical and electrophysiological approaches to reveal how brain circuits that control voluntary movements orchestrate the initiation, execution and learning of motor actions, and how neuromodulators like dopamine and acetylcholine modify these processes in health and disease.

Location

Live, in the Douglas Hall, Douglas Institute

The event will be broadcast by Zoom – but we would love to see you in person if you can!
