MENTAL HEALTH AND SOCIETY SEMINAR Eric Latimer, PhD
2019-10-16 @ 12:00 EDT
Please join us for a seminar on October 16, 12PM, in room E-3517, Perry Pavilion. This second talk in the Mental Health and Society Division’s Monthly Seminar Series will; be presented by Eric Latimer, PhD, and is entitled, “Working effectively while maintaining a reasonable work-life balance.”
We all (or at least, most of us!) struggle with both working effectively and maintaining a reasonable work-life balance. Rather than a usual research presentation, this seminar will be an occasion for participants to share their thoughts on this topic. To get the discussion started, Dr. Latimer will begin by quickly summarizing key relevant ideas from the well-known, earlier books, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective people by Stephen Covey, and Getting Things Done by David Allen. I will spend more time on a recent (2019) book, Free to Focus, by Michael Hyatt. I will discuss how some of these ideas appear to apply to our lives as researchers, and add a few thoughts, but leave plenty of time for discussion.
