Please join us for a seminar by Dr. Mario Alvarez-Jimenez, entitled, “A Vision for Transforming Youth Mental Health Care & Research”,  on Tuesday, September 17, 2019, at 11:00 am, in the William E. Stavert Amphitheatre, Douglas Hall.

Dr. Alvarez-Jimenez is Director of eOrygen, The National Centre of Excellence in Youth Mental Health and the Centre for Youth Mental Health, The University of Melbourne. Over the past 9 years, he has founded and consolidated a large innovation centre (eOrygen) harnessing digital technology, best practice in software design, novel and evidence-based psychological models and computational technology (e.g., AI and machine learning). His team has developed 12 world-first treatment platforms that combine online social media, interactive evidence-based psychological interventions, and multidisciplinary expert and peer moderation to address major challenges in youth mental health treatment, such as bringing about long-term recovery. This includes 7 completed Phase I-II studies and 2 recently completed Phase III RCT trials, and 8 ongoing Phase I-II and 5 Phase III RCT trials across 28 Australian and 16 international clinical services (from USA, Canada, and Europe).
