Genetic and Environmental Influences on the Developing Brain: Epigenetic Mechanisms and Risk for Eating Disorders
Short Biography
Dr. Linda Booij obtained a Ph.D. degree in Clinical Psychology at Leiden University in the Netherlands, and completed a postdoctoral fellowship in the Department of Psychiatry at McGill University. She is presently Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology at Concordia University and Researcher at the Sainte-Justine University Hospital Research Centre. She also works as a Psychologist at the Eating Disorders Continuum at the Douglas Hospital. Dr. Booij’s research programme has a special focus on biopsychosocial pathways to eating disorders. She conducts her research in both clinical populations and longitudinal community-based samples and uses a combination of neuro-imaging, genetic, epigenetic, behavioural and cognitive assessments. She is supported by an FRQS senior research scholar award, and holds operating grants from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research and the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council.
