Cannabis and the Brain: Insights from Neuroimaging Studies

As the landscape of cannabis use undergoes rapid transformations in the U.S. and worldwide, this presentation delves into our current understanding of how cannabis affects the brain. The talk will describe neuroimaging studies in long-term, heavy cannabis users that address: (1) the contemporary methods employed to investigate the effects of cannabis on the brain, (2) disparities in brain structure and function observed between cannabis users and non-users, and (3) the existing challenges in scientific research on cannabis.
