Can big data help explain how our brains work?
2018-11-13 @ 17:00 - 20:00 EST
Brain disorders impact one in four people worldwide and affect millions of Canadians each year. But researchers at McGill University, with access to big data sets and powerful computing tools, are making tremendous inroads into understanding mental illness and neurological disorders, and developing better diagnoses and treatments.
To celebrate the Irving Ludmer Family Foundation’s $10-million gift to the Ludmer Centre for Neuroinformatics & Mental Health, McGill University organizes on Tuesday, November 13, a public symposium highlighting the power of this work. Two researchers from the Douglas Mental Health University Institute Research Centre will explain how their projects are shaping our understanding of our brains, and what important discoveries their work might yield.
