Biography
Aurélie Bussy is a postdoctoral researcher at the CHUV in Lausanne, Switzerland, working under the supervision of Dr. Bogdan Draganski. She completed her PhD at the Computational Brain Anatomy Laboratory at McGill University. Her research focuses on understanding the relationships between brain structure and aging, with particular emphasis on how various lifestyle risk factors influence brain health. She uses quantitative MRI to investigate the microstructural integrity of the brain in her studies.
Title
Introduction to quantitative MRI
Abstract
Quantitative MRI (qMRI) refers to the use of MRI techniques, sequences, and specific parameters to estimate tissue properties at the voxel level. In this presentation, I will explain what qMRI is, contrasting it with standard or weighted MRI, and discussing the advantages and limitations of each approach. I will also cover the main imaging protocols and processing pipelines commonly used in the field. Finally, I will provide examples that demonstrate their potential in various applications.
How to attend
The event will be held in the Bowerman Room and will be rebroadcast by Zoom.
