Using Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), researcher Martin Lepage and his team are looking at memory and its relationship to the brain.

This study uses MRI to explore how memory problems, caused by issues in certain brain areas like the hippocampus, affect daily life. We’ll look for patterns in brain connections, memory performance, social skills, and symptoms. This research will help us better understand relational memory problems in psychosis and improve treatment.

Participation in this research project consists of two visits to the Douglas Institute:
- First visit: 2 hours of computer exercises & questionnaires
- Second visit: 1 hour of questionnaires and computer exercises; 1 hour for a MRI scan

Eligibility criteria
This project is recruiting individuals with and without a diagnosis of schizophrenia spectrum disorder or bipolar I disorder.
To participate you must :
- Have a diagnosis of schizophrenia spectrum disorder or bipolar I disorder (clinical participants) OR have no diagnosis of a mental health condition (control participants).
- Be between 18 to 60 years old
- Be fluent in English or French
